West Coast has a true "Blue Water Cruiser." Our RM1350 "PATAGONIA" is a 44' (13m60) truly fantastic for those who want to add miles to their sailing experience and gain experience in ocean navigation.Between April and October, we organize numerous passages between Lisbon and the Algarve, both under sail and motor. This is also an excellent opportunity to gain experience and add some miles to your navigator's resume.
For students aspiring to take the Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore exam, this is also the best way to add miles of experience and meet the mile requirements (400M / 800M respectively) for this prestigious RYA exam and certification.
During one of our trips, you will join a crew on a coastal or ocean passage, learning from a professional skipper about the onboard routine, from trip preparation to navigation and the use of electronics, sail handling, night navigation, and onboard life and watch management. And of course, there will always be time for anchoring and a sightseeing visit ashore..
Requirements
Due to the caracteristics of this type of milleage building (its duration and physical demands) it is fundamental to have previous experience in sailing. We advise you to have done at least one of our RYA courses. RYA Competent Crew is the minimum and RYA Day Skipper is advisable (theorical and practical).
Duration
Our milleage building typically have a one week duration. However, there are also some other shorter programs that are also closer to our base in Oeiras. The duration of these programs is normally between 2 and 4 days.
Destinations
In 2023 our destinations include Vilamoura, Cádiz, Gibraltar, Tanger and of course all ports of call.
Boats
Our RM1350 "PATAGONIA" is a fast, high-performing yacht, and it has the needed comforts of such a big yacht.
