West Coast holds all the insurances demanded for this kind of activity. Still we highly recommend that you contract your own travel insurance suitable for your specific needs. For example, cancellation costs, theft, unexpected disease, flight cancellation.
Not included in the selling price are any meals ashore, additional books you may need, accommodation, transfers from the marina to the airport (yet we can give you information and book a transfer for your group).

Activity subject to weather conditions. The decision of leaving or returning sooner than was predicted due to weather changes is entirely skippers responsibility. In case of cancellation of the activity at the day due to weather conditions or any other reason not attributable to clients, including weather conditions or sudden breakdown, the course will be immediately re-scheduled. Boat pictures are merely indicative and can be replaced by similarly boats with the same capacity and dimensions. The activity requires balance or physical mobility. Activity for ages of 14 and above and underaged must always be attended by an adult. Activity forbidden to pregnant women under 3 and more than 6 months.

RYA Powerboat Level 2
Whether you are new to powerboating or have a bit more experience and are looking for certification, the Powerboat Level 2 could well be the course for you.The Level 2 offers a general introduction to powerboating and teaches core boat handling and safety skills.
The qualification is widely recognized throughout the world and is suitable for a wide range of people, from beginners wanting to gain skills and improve confidence, to those with a bit more experience looking to gain their powerboat ‘license' that can be complemented by an ICC. Some people's aim is simply to be able to drive a speedboat for fun, others look to use the skill as a vehicle for their sport or job. This course might appeal to Water-skiers, Wake-boarders, Divers, Anglers, Super Yacht deck crew who drive the tender.Our two day Level 2 course will equip students with the necessary safety skills and help to build confidence, but it is also about having fun. Satisfy your need for speed in our relaxed and safe environment with this ever popular powerboat course.

If you require a powerboat license for driving in other European countries, we can take care of the paperwork for your ICC (International Certificate of Competence), which is subject to a small RYA administration fee for non-RYA members (please ask us about restrictions in place for the issue of the ICC, which from January 2015 on may also be issued to portuguese nationals and/or residents).
Pre-requisites
EThis course is adequate to anyone starting to powerboat as well as for those who need training and a structured approach to powerboating.
Minimum age of 12 years applies; certificates for under 16s will be endorsed "Not to be in charge of a powerboat unless under the supervision of a responsible adult".
Please note that in our training centre all underaged need to be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Duração
The Powerboat Level 2 course takes two days (0930 to 1730 hrs) to complete.
Available all year round at weekends or weekdays. Can be taught on board of our boats or on your own.
If you are a more experienced powerboater hoping to gain your National Powerboat Certificate and don't wish to undertake the introductory elements of the Level 2 course, you can instead attend a shorter 1:1 course (1 : 1 fast track day) which consists of some coaching and a direct assessment. Please contact us to find out more about this "direct assessment option".
Location
Oeiras Yachting Harbor offers access to an outstanding water plan. It offers modern infrastructure with restaurants, shops, showers, parking and boatyard all in a stunning location between Lisbon and Cascais.Around the marina, you will find several high quality beaches, and ocean swimming-pool and a cycle path by the water.
Its strategic location at the mouth of the river Tagus allows you to experience the Atlantic or otherwise look for the more protected and tidal waters of the river.
It's proximity to Cascais and Lisbon (about 6nm each) as well as the quick exit towards the south for destinations like Sesimbra are also a solid advantage.

RYA Powerboat Level 1
This course offers a one day taster and introduction to the sport of powerboating.Your Instructor will start by showing you the basics of boat handling and ensure that you spend several hours on the wheel as well as crewing for the other students. For those who are into speed there will be an opportunity for some high speed handling in the afternoon with some “S” and “U” turns.
Students will receive the RYA Powerboat Level 1 Certificate, but for those who want to take up powerboating or require a license for insurance purposes, we strongly recommend the full two day combined RYA Level 1 & 2 Powerboat Course instead.

Introduction - Powerboat Training
The RYA National Powerboat Scheme is for those wanting to drive small open powerboats such as RIBs (rigid inflatable boats), sports boats and small powerboats. These boats are generally powered by an outboard engine, do not normally have accommodation on board, and so are not intended for extended cruises. They may be used for short coastal or inland trips, fishing, safety cover for other watersports, waterskiing or as a support boat for diving. |
Currently we’re able to teach and certify the practical courses and shorebased courses. PCurrently we’re able to teach and certify the practical courses "Powerboat Level 1" and "Powerboat Level 2" and all the shore based levels (by distance learning or class based). Practical courses take place on board of our Ribcraft 6,4 Pro with a Suzuki 175hp with a maximum ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor.
You’re able to enter the scheme at any level as long as you have previous experience. Either you use your motor boat for recreation or professionally, we’ve got the ideal course for you!
