Itinerary
Departing from Oeiras Marina
We’ll set sail from a marina at the mouth of the Tagus River, right in Lisbon. It’s a special place to start, with views of the city skyline, historic buildings, and the famous 25 de Abril suspension bridge as we head out to the Atlantic.
Sesimbra
Our first stop is Sesimbra, a peaceful fishing village tucked between green hills and the sea. It’s known for its clear waters, fresh seafood, and the nearby Arrábida Natural Park. You can relax on the beach, take a walk through the town, or enjoy a meal with a view of the harbor.
Sines
From Sesimbra, we sail to Sines, a small port town with a rich history. It’s the birthplace of the famous explorer Vasco da Gama. The town has a laid-back vibe, with a medieval castle overlooking the sea, cozy cafés, and a beautiful beach just a short walk from the harbor.
Around Cape São Vicente
Next, we round Cape São Vicente — the southwestern tip of Portugal and once believed to be the edge of the world. This area is dramatic and wild, with tall cliffs, crashing waves, and a sense of adventure as we turn the corner toward the Algarve.
Sagres
We’ll anchor near Sagres, a place full of history and natural beauty. It was home to Prince Henry the Navigator and an important center of exploration in the 15th century. Today, it’s a quiet coastal town with impressive cliffs, peaceful beaches, and a relaxed, unspoiled atmosphere.
Portimão
We then make our way to Portimão — a lively coastal town known for its long golden beaches, vibrant waterfront, and relaxed atmosphere. Its marina is bustling with life, and you’ll find plenty of spots to grab a drink, enjoy fresh seafood, or take a stroll along the promenade.
Vilamoura
We’ll end in Vilamoura, a stylish marina town known for its great restaurants, modern facilities, and easygoing Algarve charm — the perfect place to unwind after a week at sea. It also has excellent public transport connections to Lisbon, making your return journey smooth and convenient.
